Founded in 1900, Sapphire Engineering has designed and manufactured products from ultrahard materials, including sapphire, ruby, ceramics, and stainless steel for over 100 years. Acquired by the IDEX Corporation in 2004, Sapphire Engineering products are now a brand of IDEX Health & Science LLC.
IPV (Integrated Piston/Valve)
Built on the same principles as our Precision Dispense Pumps, extensive tests show the IPV will outlast traditional syringes and valves by as much as 20-fold, yielding major lifetime cost savings. The IPV saves even more on downtime and upkeep because it requires no routine preventive maintenance such as cleaning and nut tightening, essential with conventional syringes. By selecting the seal-wash option, you can extend IPV life even longer when using it with difficult fluids.
VFP17 Precision Dispense Pump
With its Zirconia Ceramic displacement piston technology, the VFP17 precision dispense pump offers several key benefits over competing displacement and syringe pumps, including:

PVM (pump and valve module)
The compact digital PVM (Pump and Valve Module) is a self-contained, stepper-motor-driven module. This product is designed for various liquid-handling applications such as automated pipetting, diluting, and dispensing. This unit is 100 percent compatible with the Cavro™ XP-3000 syringe pump, but uses a more robust, direct-drive leadscrew technology – not belts and pulleys.
The PVM uses the Sapphire Engineering™ IPV, which meets and exceeds the precision and accuracy of traditional syringe/plug valve systems while offering up to 20x the life.
